The Birthday Month

I don't know what it is about March but it seems like all we have done all month is celebrate Ethan's birthday or attend other birthday parties! Today was Ethan's last birthday celebration. We had a magician come to the house. The kids had a great time. Here is Ethan waiting to open some of his presents.

Troy is thinking that he isn't quite sure about this lightsaber business - Ethan is still obsessed with Star Wars. He is wearing his padawan cloak that we got in Florida.

We celebrated my birthday and Ethan's birthday is St. Catharines last weekend. Troy definitely enjoyed the chocolate cake!

Ethan and I went to Florida for a week and left the other three behind. We had a great time in Florida but I missed Troy, Olivia and Scott. Troy was okay for the first couple of days and then he spent a lot of time saying "ma ma". Once Scott came home he would start saying "da da" - he is an adaptable little guys. The funny thing is that when I was away Troy slept great for Scott. However, now that I am back he is up to his usual tricks (standing in his crib with his blankey waiting for me to pick him up and let him sleep with us in the middle of the night. He then spends the whole night rolling and kicking me). He knows his mommy is a sucker!
Thanks to the Disney Free Admission on your birthday policy, Ethan and I celebrated our actual birthday at Disney World in Florida. We had a great time. Thanks to the speed passes, we only waited for one ride. Ethan went on Space Mountain and likes to boast that he was the only one not screaming!
In early March, Ethan celebrated his birthday (along with his friend Sierra's birthday) with their afternoon preschool at the school gym. In addition to the kids in his class, his best buddy Aidan came as well.
Troy had his eighteen month check up this week. He weighed in at just over 29 pounds and continues to top the growth chart! He loves playing with cars, balls and reading books. Ethan was not that in to cars, so it is great that Troy is playing with all his old ones!
Olivia is underrepresented in this pictures on the blog - she just didn't want to have her picture taken! She also went to the doctor this week. She only weighs 24.1 pounds and is off the chart at the lower end for height and weight. Since she looks healthy the doctor said we should just try serving her high fat foods but the thing is she really prefers fruits and vegetables!

Carly, Ethan and I headed to Florida on March 16, 2009 for 8 days while Scott and Paola took care of the troops on the homefront. We spent four nights with my mom and Wayne in Titusville and then headed to Orlando for the rest of the trip. The weather was great and it was relaxing only having to watch Ethan. He had a great time and made friends wherever we went.

This is from our birthday at Disney World - pictures above were out of order!
When we were in Titusville, Ethan, Nana and I went golfing on a Par 3 course. Ethan did really well - this summer Nana is going to get him some golf lessons!
As I mentioned, Ethan LOVES Star Wars - so this was one of the highlights of the trip. Ethan and I were in Target one morning looking at the Star Wars toys. There was a man there as well and he asked if Ethan liked Star Wars. When I said yes, he told about his organization (they dress up as Star Wars characters for birthday parties, charity events). As it turns out, they were performing at a charity event that morning down the road from our hotel. So we went and Ethan loved it. He had his picture taken with all the Star Wars characters there!

Now that Florida and Ethan's birthday parties are finished, the next thing we have to look forward to is Nana and Grampy's visit in late April. I will (hopefully) try to blog again before their visit!
