We'll Miss Nana Wendy!!!

After staying with us for almost three weeks, Nana Wendy is heading back to Victoria. Although I am sure she is looking forward to a little bit of relaxing and nicer weather, we are sure going to miss her. She has been an amazing help to all of us, especially considering my work schedule over the past couple of weeks. Ethan has greatly enjoyed his time with Nana Wendy and has already told me that he is going to be sad that she is leaving. Luckily we will see her again in July at Jen and John's wedding.

Since I have blogged last, things have been busy. Last weekend Ethan had his first sleepover away from home at Auntie Michelle's house. He had a great time, he loves playing with Bailey and Casey. As an added bonus, they have an air hockey table which he loves!! While we only had one child at home, Scott and I left Olivia with Wendy and went to the movies. We went to go see Children of Men, if you haven't seen it yet, don't go!!! That being said, it was nice to go the movies, it has been a long time for me.

On Saturday, we headed down to St. Catharines to celebrate my brother's birthday. Our group of 21 had a great time at the Mandarin. Ethan has decided that he only likes going to the men's public washroom, which posed a little bit of a problem when I tried to take him. Luckily Scott came quickly before he tried to go in on his own. Ethan now rarely has accidents and is even waking up dry in the mornings!! Toilet training was so much easier than I thought it would be!!

Today Wendy, Oliiva and I did some shopping before heading over to meet Scott and Ethan at Uncle Kirk's new condo in Toronto. He has added blinds and some painting since our last visit and the place looks great. Tonight we have our friends the Topolski's, the Thornton's and Walshy over for some chicken wings and Thai food (I know that sounds like a bit of a stange combination, but it was yummy!). It was great to see everyone and Steph gave me a good tip about proper placement of pictures on the blog (however, I am too lazy to try it tonight!). Olivia had fun playing with Truman and Christine. Christine was a great sharer with Olivia, she is getting big and looks more like a toddler now!!

Here are some pictures from the past week or two!!!

Bad Blogger

I know that I have been a very bad blogger of late, I just seem to be too tired by the time the kids are in the bed and the weekends seem to go by too fast. Anyway, will try to update on what has been going on lately.

Last weekend (actually two weekends ago), we had a fun time going to a birthday party at Gymboree for Ethan's friend, Jake. Then we went out for dinner with our friends Dana, Kerry, Charloette and Carson to Mexicala Rosa. It was yummy and all of the kids were relatively well behaved. Ethan kept Scott busy by constantly wanting to go the bathroom. He is pretty much 100% toilet trained, with the occasional accident. He even likes to wear his underwear for naptime. The precipitating event for toilet training seemed to be the fact that a boy at school a couple of weeks ago called him a baby for wearing pull-ups. The next day he insisted on wearing underwear!!! Peer pressure and he isn't even three yet!!!

Last Wednesday, Wendy came to stay with us for a couple of weeks. It is great to have her here and Ethan and Olivia are enjoying spending time with her. On the weekend, we had another special visitor, Auntie Jen, she stopped by Toronto on her way to a conference in Ottawa. She helped Nana Wendy babysit while Scott and I went out for a nice dinner alone - it was great. We also saw Uncle Kirk's new condo in Toronto on Saturday. It is really nice and has a great view. It's on the 20th floor and Ethan insisted on standing up right against the window, which made me very nervous, he has no fear.

Nana Smith send some money with Wendy for the kids and we bought Ethan a new puzzle of the world with it. This one has about 60 pieces, as the 24 piece ones are too easy for him. Thanks Nana Smith - here is a picture of him putting the puzzle together - actually I haven't down loaded those pictures yet (will do so soon). In the meantime, there is one of him from the birthday party!

Yesterday, Papa and Margaret came over for a visit, followed by Kirk to watch the Superbowl. Lots of visitors, which is great because Ethan and Olivia love having an entertainment commitee!!

Olivia is doing great, eating a ton and getting big fast. I can't wait to see how much weight she has gained, she is outgrowing a lot of her 12-18 month clothing!! She had another ear infection on the weekend which made her a little bit cranky but she is feeling better today thanks to the antibiotics. The good thing is that the time in between ear infections seems to be increasing. Luckily today she was laughing and giggling and was back to her old sweet self. I am hoping that she sleeps better tonight!!!
