Ethan and Auntie Jen during her visit!!

Yikes, didn't realize it had been that long since my last post..

What have we been up to?

Going back to Easter weekend, Auntie Jen came to visit for a couple of days. Ethan and Olivia had lots of fun playing with her. Ethan enjoyed his first easter egg hunt. He actually ended up having a couple - at our house, at Papa's house and at Nana's house - he had a blast!! On Sunday, we went to my mom's for Easter dinner. We had a delicious dinner and the kids had fun playing with Carly, Courtney and Caitlyn.

Last Saturday, we went to London to Nico's 4th birthday party. It was a swimming party. Ethan had a blast, he even went down a pretty big waterslide all by himself, very brave!! I wasn't planning on letting Olivia go swimming (because of her ears) but she really wanted to go in, so Scott took her in in just a swimmer. She loved it as well!!!

After swimming, we went back to Erin's house. My friend Rhona and her daughter came over as well. Nico got a trampoline for his birthday, so the kids had fun jumping around (until Erin's niece pucked all over the trampoline!!).

On Sunday, we had my friend Dana, her husband and their two kids over for brunch. Dana brought Ethan a belated birthday present which turned out to be another scooter. This is going to be the "outside scooter", as it is a fire engine type scooter that makes a lot of noise!!! Scott and Ethan had fun riding around on the scooters together (until Scott saw the weight restriction and had to get off)!

Ethan then went to watch Scott's soccer game while Olivia and I did some shopping. Ethan was very excited to see Scott get two goals and kept yelling to Scott to keep his eyes on the ball!!! He is really turning into a sports fan!! He knows most of the names of the players on the Raptors - I am not sure if that is a good thing.

Other than that, all is well. Olivia is great, she is always laughing and smiling. She has started laughing at Ethan when he has temper tantrums, which is quite amusing. She is now also starting to get upset when Ethan takes away whatever she is playing with. Before she would just find another toy to play with, but now she realizes - hey that was mine!! She went for her 15 month check up and is around 20 pounds, she is starting to get heavy.

Her surgery is on Monday, although I think it is going to be harder for me that her. I started crying as the pre-screening nurse was talking to me about the procedure - I can't imagine how I will be on the morning of. I just have to keep telling myself that it will be worth it in the end.

Will let you know how it goes! [There has been a delay since this was written, but will update soon]

The Soother Fairy

A couple of weeks ago we went to my friend Dana's house for a playdate. The soother fairy had just visited her house and taken all of her daughter Charlotte's soothers in exchange for a scooter. While Ethan seem to really take to the idea and wanted to trade his soothers for a scooter. So this week we went to Toys R Us and bought him a Spiderman scooter. He loves is his scooter and hasn't asked for his soothers since, it was such an easy transition. He adapts to new situations and changes so easily!! The only problem seems to be that he is no longer napping in the afternoons. It makes bedtime easier, but I miss the 2 hour afternoon break!!

We had a busy weekend. On Saturday we went shopping to the States with Jerry, Michele and Truman to buy the kids some summer clothes. We were very successful, there were some great deals, especially for Olivia. After shopping, we decided to go out for dinner to the Cheesecake Factory, seemed like a great idea until we got there and they told us that it was a 2 1/2 hour wait!! We ended up going to the Olive Garden for dinner. It was late by the time we got there and Scott's dinner took forever. As a result, Ethan needed a couple of time outs to remember to use his "quiet voice", but we still had a good time and a great meal!!
Today Papa and Margaret came over to visit. They brought Ethan and I belated birthday presents, as they were in Florida on our birthday. Ethan had a great time rough housing with Papa and playing play dough with Margaret. Papa was tired out after the visit, but Ethan was already looking forward to their next visit.

Here are some pictures of Ethan on his scooter and of Ethan and Olivia playing. He always makes her laugh!!
