Rough Week

Last week was a little bit rough around here, reminded me of the days when Olivia was two months old!!! After dealing with constant crying by Olivia (unless she was being held) for a day and a half, I took her back to the walk-in clinic and it turns out that she still had the ear infection and the antibiotics hadn't been working. So they prescribed some stronger ones (which are working, we went to the doctor to check today). During this time, Ethan took advantage of my perceived weakness and was a bit of a terror. Luckily things improved before the weekend.

Ethan went with Scott, Aidan, Jeff and Aidan's grandparents to the Santa Claus parade on Saturday. They had a great time and were very happy to see each other. Here is a picture of them at the parade. The rest of the weekend was spent doing errands and figuring out last minute emergency accommodations for Florida.

We went to the doctor's today to have Olivia's ears checked out before Florida and she was pretty much crawling on the doctor's table, what motived her was the crinkly paper on top of the table. However, now that the crinkly paper is gone, she is her motivation. She is extremely chatty today with lots of new "words" and word combinations. She had a little conversation with her daddy at work.

I am attaching a picture from Ethan and Olivia playing together last week. This was on Friday when she was starting to feel better.

Busy Busy

Last week was crazy busy. I had to go to work for three days and there was tons of juggling to try to find some babysitters for the kids. Scott watched Olivia for most of Monday, Margaret watched them both on Tuesday (the kids had a great time) and Wednesday Olivia came to work with me. Luckily she was a big hit and very well behaved!!

Olivia's teeth are still coming in, most of them have broken the surface (Here is a picture of her biting her high chair). To add to her discomfort, however, she has an ear infection. The antibiotics are working, so she is feeling much better, but she hates taking the medicine (and really who can blame her)! She isn't crawling yet (and I have doubts that she ever will), but she is perfecting her standing and assisted walking techniques!!

Ethan is doing pretty well, still having some diarrhea. We went to the doctor today and they want me to get two stool samples. Let me tell you how much fun that is, good thing I love him so much!!! I had a parent teacher meeting with Ethan's Montessori school teacher on Friday. She had lots of good things to say about him but she said his most memorable quality is his sweetness, kindness and his big heart. She said that he is always trying to help the other kids and make them feel better if they are sad. Ethan was there and keeps telling everyone that he has a bad heart (instead of big heart).

Olivia and I had a nice visit with my friend Rebecca and her son Harry. They came over for lunch yesterday. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture. It was great to see both of them and Harry had lots of fun exploring Olivia's toys.

More to tell, will try to post again in the next couple of days....

Olivia's New Teeth

As you can see from the attached pictures, Olivia is in great spirits despite the fact that she has 6 teeth coming in all at once - four on the top and two more on the bottom!!! As you can also probably tell, the drooling is out of control!!! Here is a picture of her playing with her new piano, she loves standing and playing with it. Ethan also likes playing with it. The two of them were playing together today, it was so cute. He loves making her smile and laugh (and sometimes cry too)!

Tonight we had the Topolski's over for some take-out chicken wings and Thai food (Michele isn't a big fan of chicken wings). Ethan had a blast playing with Jerry, Michele and Morrie. He loves chasing Morrie!!! Unfortunately at one point Ethan scared Morrie, causing him to jump on little Truman's head. Luckily, Truman was a trooper!!! Here's a picture of Truman and Olivia hanging out on the bed before Olivia's bath.

Olivia had her first Mother Goose class on Thursday. She had a lot of fun and was very social with all the other moms and babies. After Mother Goose, we had my friends Kiki and Sue and their four kids over for lunch. Ethan had a great time playing with all of them. As they were leaving, it started to snow. Ethan was very excited!! I think he is going to have a blast when the snow comes (I hoep this doesn't mean that I am going to have to play in the snow too!)
