Family Time

There are a lot of pictures....but they are just too cute!!

Scott was off last week, so went on a couple of fun family outings. I can't believe how quickly the summer is going by.

This one of Olivia is from tonight. She had a blast playing on the swing.

On Friday, we went to the zoo. Auntie Jen and Uncle John bought us a family season pass to the zoo - this was the first time we have been (but we will definitely go again). Ethan got his face painted as spiderman. The people from Today's Parent insisted that we enter him in the cutest baby/kid contest, so you may see him on a magazine cover sometime soon!!

Unfortunately, Friday turned out to be kids day at the zoo (kids under 12 were free), so it was pretty crazy. We will go back another day when it will hopefully not be as crowded. Despite the crowds, we still had fun.

All the kids - but especially Olivia - had fun playing in the splash pad.

Troy really didn't get much out of our trip to the zoo but he was happy to people watch from his stroller.

On Wednesday, we headed to Marineland with Carly and her friend, Alison. We had a great time - Ethan was the perfect age. He got in for free and there were tons of fun rides for him to go on.
Olivia trying to escape the confines of the wagon....
Ethan loved all the rides and was very disappointed that he was too short for some of the "big" rides. As you can imagine, he had no fear!! His two favourite rides were the kiddie drop zone and roller coaster - both had some adults screaming!! This is Carly's friend, Alison with Ethan.
Troy was once again hanging out in the wagon enjoying the sites. I am looking forward to next summer when he won't have to be couped up in a wagon and/or stroller (although I might feel differently next year as I chase him through the crowds).

Last week my friend Dana and her three kids came over for a playdate - both our nannies were away. We managed the six kids between us pretty well. Ethan and Charlotte played exceptionally well together. We had a slight scare following the playdate - Charlotte had some spots that telehealth told Dana were chicken pox. Luckily it turned out to be a false alarm - as all of the kids had been swimming in the pool together.

This is Troy and Peyton. Peyton is about a month older than Troy. Being the third child seems to have made them both very agreeable and laid back (at least most of the time).
Last weekend was Ethan's last soccer game. The Oakville Blue Elephants had a fantastic season. Scott was the coach of his team, so we had a team barbeque at our house following the game. Luckily the weather cooperated and everyone had a great time. Here is Ethan with his medal.
Here is Ethan and Aidan resting in the shade during one of the play breaks.
Here is Olivia having a snack. She is doing well and has been very happy. Her only bad day was Marineland, she was overtired and only wanted to be held. I think she misses Paola.
Ethan and Troy love playing together - Ethan loves making Troy laugh. I do see the makings for some trouble between them (as well as a lot more fun) once Troy starts walking.
That's all the pictures for now....

Nana and Grampy's Visit

We generally have very healthy kids who are seldom sick - except it seems when Nana and Grampy visit! The week before Nana and Grampy's visit, Ethan came down with a bad cold/fever. I thought for sure he would be better by the time Nana and Grampy visit - but no such luck. Not only did Ethan continue to be sick, but Troy and I got sick as well. I was a horrible sick person and really felt horrible for most of a week. Troy and I finally started to feel better just as Nana and Grampy were leaving. Luckily, Scott, Nana and Grampy did not seem to catch the super bug the rest of us had and Olivia only had a small fever for a day or two. Despite the germs in the Sullivan house, it was still great to have Nana and Grampy visit.

Here is a picture of Troy with his favourite friend - his blanket. The blanket is his version of the soother and he loves it!! Troy is doing great - his newest trick is what I have coined the "cry and crawl". When he was sick, whenever I was out of his sight, he would start crying and crawl to find me. He had such a sad face, especially with all the snot coming out of his nose!!!
Ethan and Paola had fun putting Ethan's boat together that he was given as part of a loot bag from a birthday party.

Ethan and Nana did some much needed weeding in the garden during her visit.
On Canada Day, we had the Thornton's and Topolski's over for a bbq. The kids had a great time playing on our new climber (see below). The glider was a big hit!

While Steve was here, he worked hard on many household projects, including putting the climber together. Scott, Kirk and Steve had it all put together just in time for our Canada Day bbq. We really appreciate all their help!
We celebrated Troy's baptism while Nana and Grampy were visiting. Here is a picture of Carly and Ethan at my mom's house after the baptism.
Despite his cold/fever, Troy was still smiling for the camera!!
Olivia took a liking to Jerry and they spent some quality time together. She is so gentle and sweet!!!
Jerry, Michele and my brother Scott are the godparents for Troy. Here is a picture of them. Troy was relatively well behaved for the event. The car keys kept him occupied for most of the ceremony. A bunch of us were late because of the horrible traffic and I didn't get a chance to feed Troy before it started. Luckily, he cooperated!!
Here's Olivia hanging out in the kitchen. She is really enjoying the nice weather, walking around the neighbourhood and playing with some of the neighbours.

Ethan is staying at Michelle's for a sleepover tonight - it seems too quiet without him. Scott, Troy, Olivia and I took advantage of Ethan's absence and went out for dinner to the new neighbour resturant. It was good and the kids were well behaved (until just about the end).
We found out Ethan's JK teacher tonight. Luckily Ethan and Aidan are going to be in the same class!!! They are going to have so much fun together!!! For the first time, it hit me how big Ethan is getting. I can't believe he starts JK in less than two months!! Sniff Sniff!!!
