May Update

It seems as though I only have time to update the Blog once a month...So what's new? We have been keeping very busy with our daily schedules of pre-school, gymnastics, swimming, playdates etc..

Troy turned eight months last Friday...I can't believe where the time has gone. He brings me such joy!!! He continues to be a loving, sweet, little (well not so little) baby. He is crawling backwards but hasn't quite got the hang of going forward. He has started talking and says "da da da" and other sound combinations for most of the day - he is very chatty. He is very social and often will stare and "talk" to people when we are out to get them to pay attention to him. His new trick to get people's attention is waving. We started going to Gymboree last week and he LOVES it!!!

We got a inflatable jumping house, which all the kids love. It was one of my finds - I love the toy sales in the flyers every week - 60% off. The only problem is that it only fit one person, so we ended up taking it back. While we had it, however, Ethan and Olivia (and many of their friends) had fun playing in it.
We were at the Thornton's for a lovely bbq last weekend. Olivia loved playing on the swing. Ethan was a good big brother and spent a lot of time pushing her. We bought a swing set for the backyard (which based on the current rate of speed, if left to Scott, would be put together by Christmas - luckily Grappy is coming to visit soon!), so Olivia will have a swing of her own.
Ethan started playing soccer on the long weekend. His two best buddies, Aidan and Jake are on his team (and Scott is the coach). Here is Ethan and Aidan. Ethan is really good and has gotten at least one goal at each of the games. He is also very good at defence and would like to play goalie, except this league doesn't have goalies.
On Mother's Day, the kids surprised me with flowers and breakfast in bed.
Troy is continuing to try lots of new foods and is loving all of them. He eats all vegetables so far (including broccoli), all fruits and meat. It will be interesting to see how much he weighs next month. He was almost double the size of most the kids at Gymboree.

We survived Scott's golfing trip. I had the kids alone for five days while Scott went golfing with friends to Alabama. We kept busy going to birthday parties and playdates. I also stayed by myself overnight for the first time in our house!!! We were, however, happy to have Scott home!!!
Ethan and Olivia are enjoying the nice weather. Olivia loves walking around everyone. She can now stand up on her own from the ground (before she would usually need to hold on to something to stand up). Ethan is enjoying playing with Aidan and some new neighbourhood friends. He loves playing on his two wheel scooter.
Well it is time to make dinner, so that's is for now...

Well it seems the best I can do these days is a post a month...So what have we been up to for the past month? Where to begin...
