August Heat

Olivia getting ready to go swimming last Monday...
Ethan and Olivia are playing play dough together. Ethan is getting much better at letting Olivia play with his and his toys!
In order to escape the August heat, we have been spending a lot of time doing the one thing that makes me comfortable - swimming and/or spending time in water!
Today we headed to the African Lion Safari. Ethan had fun looking at all of the animals. Some of them got quite close to the car, but luckily none of them actually climbed onto the car. After seeing all the animals, we headed to the waterpark. Ethan is now over 3 feet, so he was tall enough to go into the "big kids" waterpark. He had fun going down the waterslides and playing in the water. Olivia and Scott stayed in the "little kids" waterpark, she had fun splashing around. Ethan ended the visit with a pony ride.
Ethan had another sleepover in St. Catharines this week, as Scott and I headed to a very nice spa in Port Hope for the night. While we were relaxing, Ethan went bowling for the first time with Michelle, Bailey, Casey and Carly. Ethan legitimately beat Michelle the first game. He had a great time, although Michelle says he didn't get much sleep later that night. The next day he went swimming with all the girls at Papa's house. When Scott and I got back, we picked up Olivia and headed down to St. Catharines to pick up Ethan and have a BBQ at Michelle and Kevin's.
Last weekend, we spent some time (or Scott spent some time) doing some of the things around the house that we hadn't had time to do....clean the garage, clean the closets, paint Olivia's room. It felt good to cross a few items off our "To Do List".
On Sunday, we headed to Uncle Kirk's. Scott and Ethan helped Uncle Kirk put together his new sound system. Then Scott and Ethan headed to the Toronto soccer game. Ethan didn't care that Beckham wasn't playing and had a great time. Olivia and I went to the mall and then had a quiet evening at home.
On Monday, while Scott was golfing, Ethan, Olivia and I headed to St. Catharines to go swimming with Michelle, Bailey, Casey and Nana. Ethan is now very comfortable swimming with just his water wings, including jumping in the water unassisted. I am looking forward to putting him in swimming lessons in September so he can learn to swim on his own. Olivia is a natural in the water and loves it. Her new trick in the water is climbing out of her swimming ring, so you have to stay right beside her at all times!!! After swimming, we headed to Papa's for a vist and a tour of his new house.
Here is a nice picture of Scott and Olivia from last week. All of the nice pictures seem to be of Scott and Ethan and/or Olivia. I guess it is hard to look good in pictures when you are 8 1/2 months and HUGE!!!
